Rehabilitation of Small Farmers Project(OSRO/YFM/704/SW)
Al-Ekram Foundation, in partnership with FAO, distributed 1995 bags of improved maize seeds to farmers in Baqim, Al-Hashwa, and Ghamr districts, Sa’ada Governorate in May 2018 as part of the project to rehabilitate small farmers and improve agricultural production. Moreover, 357 farmers were supported in the aforementioned districts during June and July of the same year by distributing 30 laying hens to each beneficiary, building their houses and providing each farmer with one bag of chicken feed. Furthermore, the Foundation has distributed a 40 kg bag of improved wheat seeds to each farmer of 750 farmers during July 2018. The Foundation also supported a number of 501 farmers in Baqim, Ghamr and Al-Haswah districts by distributing a 230 kg bag of sorghum seed, and a 5 kg bag of Djra seeds to each farmer.
Al-Ekram Foundation also supported 210 farmers in the same districts in August of the same year by providing sheep and 3 goats, as well as 200 kg of livestock fodder in order to reach the self-sufficiency and improve livelihoods.
